MARINA – ‘KEY TO THE CASTLE’

Four months on from the release of her latest album ‘PRINCESS OF POWER,’ art pop stalwart MARINA has unveiled its deluxe version, featuring four additional tracks plus a remix of ‘EVERYBODY KNOWS I’M SAD.’ One of the new tracks is the energetic ‘KEY TO THE CASTLE,’ which opens with a triumphant fanfare that explodes into a dramatic synth rhythm and medieval fairytale-themed storytelling.

Miss Grit – ‘Tourist Mind’

Korean-American experimentalist Margaret Sohn, better known by her artist name Miss Grit, ascends into an alien dimension with her latest piece of trippy, futuristic electronica ‘Tourist Mind.’ The track is built on a steady, pulsing beat layered with various textures, echoing vocals, and heavy distortion. Accompanied by an equally psychedelic video that plays with light and shadow, it’s a must-listen for fans of Grimes and FKA Twigs.

Annabelle Chairlegs – ‘Concrete Trees’

Whimsical rockstar and affectionately-dubbed ‘weird girl’ Annabelle Chairlegs is the solo-project-slash-alter-ego of Austin-based musician Lindsey Mackin. Despite launching with debut album ‘Watermelon Summer’ way back in 2015, ‘Concrete Trees’ is only Annabelle Chairlegs’ third single. Loaded up with janky, grungy guitars, idiosyncratic lyrics, and primal screaming, the track proves that quality is better than quantity.

ALT BLK ERA – ‘Okay (Cyber Racing)’

MOBO-winning sister duo ALT BLK ERA are back with another impossibly catchy electro-rock anthem. ‘Okay (Cyber Racing)’ is a lethal fusion of drum ‘n’ bass, R&B, and hyperpop. The sisters Nyrobi and Chaya Becket-Messam each contribute their own distinctive vocals to the track. Aged just 21 and 18, the duo’s mind-bending talent and audacious challenging of conventions bodes well for a thrilling, innovative future in music.

Dynamyte – ‘Picket Fence Life’

LA-based artist Marisa Kouroubacalis picked a very apt stage name; she is a machine of a musician, adept at a rock band’s worth of instruments on top of her sultry, soulful vocals. On her recent single ‘Probably,’ she impressively played drums as well as singing; for new track ‘Picket Fence Life,’ she traded the drumkit in for a bass guitar, not wanting to see any of her talents going to waste. The groovy, vintage-edged track is a rejection of the typical American Dream in favour of a simplistic, free-spirited lifestyle.
