Here’s who’s remixing what on the new BRAT

More music from the BRAT universe drops this Friday – featuring one heck of a list of collaborators

BRAT summer over? Yeah, right. With a full reworking of Charli XCX‘s BRAT album on the way this Friday, we are set to be pulled from our hibernation pits into the throng of the club once more. And after weeks of teasing, we now finally have a full tracklist and a confirmed list of collaborators. Here are our thoughts.

‘360’ feat. Robyn & Yung Lean

We’ve already heard this track from longtime friends and collaborators Robyn and Yung Lean and we still very much enjoy this lyric from Robyn “I started so young, I didn’t even have email / Now my lyrics on your booby

‘Club Classics’ feat. BB Trickz

Not familiar with BB Trickz? That’s likely because you’re over 25. The Gen Z Barcelonan rapper – named the Spanish Ice Spice – has cracked the algorithm to have oodles of TikTok success. Expect a natty rap verse over those club, club classics.

Sympathy is a Knife’ feat. Ariana Grande

Seemingly addressing the media’s fixation with Grande’s weight, Charli shared a couple of lyrics ahead of Friday’s launch: “It’s a knife when they dissect your body on the front page / It’s a knife when they won’t believe you / Why should you explain?

‘I Might Say Something Stupid’ feat. The 1975 & Jon Hopkins

Prone to saying something stupid, is this the Matty redemption song some people – not us, particularly – have been waiting for? The track has gone from 1:49 to 4:20 so whatever the lad has to say, better be good.

Talk Talk’ feat. Troye Sivan

You know it, you love it, it’ll make you sweat.

‘Everything Is Romantic’ feat. Caroline Polachek

One of Charli’s besties and A1 artist/producer/singer/songwriter Caroline Polachek has been fairly absent from the BRAT run to date (apart from offering support in the wings) so we’re glad to see her name on the remix album

‘Rewind’ feat. Bladee

Another one of Sweden’s Sad Boys crew (alongside Yung Lean, Ecco2k and Thaiboy Digital), Bladee, like Charli, is a world builder.

‘So I’ feat. A.G. Cook

Only another of SOPHIE’s friends and collaborators would be a fitting addition to this song. A.G. will do it justice.

‘Girl So Confusing’ feat. Lorde

The track that launched a thousand thinkpieces. And the one song that we still cannot listen to without welling up.

‘Apple’ feat. The Japanese House

Top tier choice! Amber Bain’s production skills are serious and we can’t wait to hear what she’ll do with ‘Apple’. Here’s hoping Kelley Heyer has prepped a new dance.

‘B2b’ feat. Tinashé

Thankfully not a song about business-to-business services, Tinashé was a strong contender for Song of the Summer with ‘Nasty’ and now could be on her way to more viral success with ‘B2b’. It’s not the first time the pair have collaborated of course, both featuring on Ty Dolla $ign’s ‘Drop That Kitty’, nine years ago.

‘Mean Girls’ feat. Julian Casablancas

On paper, this seems like the maddest pairing but we suppose if we’re reaching, the original track was about New York meanie podcaster Dasha Nesrakova and JC is also a New Yorker? Perhaps more synergy will be made apparent. Or maybe Charli just can’t kick her love of The Strokes.

‘I Think About It All the Time’ feat. Bon Iver

We’re really fighting the temptation to say bore off Bon Iver but look, we won’t do it. Instead will just politely question why Justin Vernon is the guy to remix a song about whether or not to have kids before the ol’ biological clock ticks its final tock.

‘365’ feat. Shygirl

Yes to Shy. Yes to this pairing.

‘Guess’ feat. Billie Eilish

Has anyone guessed that Google Drive password yet?
