Indie-pop artist Beabadoobee has enlisted Grammy-nominated Best New Artist The Marías to feature on her latest single, ‘All I Did Was Dream Of You’ and it is a match made in heaven. The single marks Beabadoobee’s first official release since her acclaimed third album, ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’, released in August 2024, and is a stunning comeback which combines 90s alt-rock sensibilities and relatable songwriting.

The collaboration was born out of The Marías frontwoman María Zardoya’s and Beabadoobee’s longstanding admiration for each other, and it’s the perfect pairing. The song flits between laidback and contemplative verses and ramps up during the rocky choruses, which draw from 90s alternative sounds. The bridge is explosive with screeching guitars that contrast with Zardoya’s and Laus’ angelic vocals.

The track’s lyrics showcase Beabadoobee’s ability to pinpoint universal experiences and capture them in catchy hooks. The opening lines, “Please, all I did was dream of you / Swimming in my mind again / Wanting to waste time again,” perfectly reflect the yearning and desire we all feel when in love.

Inspired by the final scene of Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia, the single’s music video, co-directed by longtime collaborator Jake Erland and Lithuanian director AboveGround, is cinematic and dystopian. Filmed in Lithuania in -17℃, Beabadoobee suffered for her art – and it paid off. The video encapsulates the song’s grit and passion.

Beabadoobee also recently contributed a new song ‘Say Yes’ to HELP (2), the collaborative album project by Warchild released last week. Across one special week in November 2025 musicians, including Bea, Arctic Monkeys, Olivia Rodrigo and many more, came together to create a new record whose proceeds go to War Child’s work to protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children living through conflict around the world.
