Taylor Swift fans have been losing sleep after they spotted a nasty cut on the singer’s hand during the Houston, Texas dates of the Eras Tour. The singer could be clearly seen with a gash on her palm – but after fans shared their concern, she reassured the internet that she’s going to be absolutely fine.
“For those asking how I cut my hand, I’m totally fine and it was my fault completely,” the singer shared in a tweet, continuing to say that she “tripped on my dress hem and fell in the dark backstage while running to a quick change – braced my fall with my palm. It was all very Mercury in retrograde coded. Don’t worry about me I’m gooooood.”
Just got to play 3 insane shows in Houston and I’m waking up smiling reminiscing about how much fun we all had. Loving this tour so much because of the passion these crowds put into it all – seriously can’t wait for Atlanta ☺️ PS for those asking how I cut my hand, I’m totally… pic.twitter.com/j3MK7twzdc— Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) April 24, 2023
Keen to not make it a talking point, fans noticed just how many ways Taylor tried to cover up the cut during the Texas shows.
@x.taylorswift.x13 She gave her blood, sweat and tears for this! #taylorswift #swiftie #swifttok #theerastour #fyp #1989worldtour #andreaswift #TaylorSwift #taylorsversion ♬ original sound – xtaylorswiftx13
Many fans hailed her bravery, pointing out that male artists have cancelled whole tours for less. “Morgan Wallen would of cancelled the show” wrote one fan on TikTok. “That cut was so deep, I don’t know how she looks so unphased by it”, wrote another.
Well, it’s good news that Taylor is fighting fit because she has got 39 Eras Tour dates left to play, continuing this Friday in Atlanta Georgia and finishing with a five-night run in Los Angeles in early August. Support for the tour includes Beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, Gracie Abrams, Haim, MUNA, Gayle and Owenn.
