Three years after ‘Daddy’s Home’, St Vincent is finally back with a buzzing, blistering new single, ‘Broken Man’.

The track is the first to be taken from her upcoming self-produced album ‘All Born Screaming’, which will arrive on April 26 and features cameos from the likes of Devo, Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, and more.

One famous name who turns up on ‘Broken Man’ is Dave Grohl, who lends some pummelling drums to the song’s final throes. Before that moment, St Vincent weaves us down a dynamic path of industrial rock, throwing out confrontational questions as she goes. “Who the hell do you think I am?” Annie Clark asks. “And what are you looking at / Like you’ve never seen a broken man?”

Of the new album, Clark says: “There are some places, emotionally, that you can only get to by taking the long walk into the woods alone – to find out what your heart is really saying. It sounds real because it is real.”

The tracklist for ‘All Born Screaming’ is as follows:

‘Hell Is Near’
‘Reckless’
‘Broken Man’
‘Flea’
‘Big Time Nothing’
‘Violent Times’
‘The Power’s Out’
‘Sweetest Fruit’
‘So Many Planets’
‘All Born Screaming (featuring Cate Le Bon)’

In the time since ‘Daddy’s Home’, the star has kept herself busy, first co-writing and co-starring in the bizarre psychological thriller The Nowhere Inn with Carrie Brownstein and writing the film’s soundtrack. She’s also contributed to Metallica tribute album ‘The Metallica Blacklist’, covering ‘Sad But True’, and appeared on the soundtrack for Minions: The Rise Of Gru
