“Apparently ITV are upset about my nipples” said Charli XCX, on collecting her first of five BRIT awards at the 2025 ceremony.
The BRAT-queen looked incredible in a sheer dress that left nobody guessing at the colour of her underwear. The designer of choice was no accident, either. At London Fashion Week, just a couple of weeks ago, Turkish designer Dilara Findikoglu’s A/W 25 show was the most hyped moment in an otherwise fairly subdued LFW. Known for celebrating the female form with collections that make best use of corsets, gothic lace and structured, form-fitting clothing, Findikoglu’s star piece at this year’s show was a tattooed dress, that was worn like second skin.
The anarchic fashion designer and former intern of John Galliano has long tried to subvert patriarchal norms with her designs. There was the collection that saw female models as a glam rock band, surrounded by male groupies. Her most recent collection was inspired by Botticelli’s Venus and boasted bustiers embellished with shells and feathers as well as the punk safety-pin tassels that adorned skirts and shoes.
Charli wore look 9 from Findikoglu’s A/W 25 collection which debuted at Electrowerkz London in February. Of the collaboration, Findikoglu said: “Every moment I share with Charli feels like the ultimate testament to the strength of girls who refuse to compromise on being themselves. We will be forever push the boundaries of society”.
