Laviea Thomas is an experienced freelance music journalist and culture writer based in south London. Eager to amplify the striding success of POC creatives who’re changing the format and the flavour of the rock scene as we currently see it, Laviea founded House of Wax Zine - a small, independent zine spotlighting POC artists in the rock and metal scene. Her most recent role was Editorial Assistant at Notion Magazine. As a freelance music journalist, she has bylines spread across The Quietus and Sofar Sounds and has previously collaborated with clients Festival Republic, PRSFoundation, Future PLC, Louder and Clash Magazine. Previous contributing roles include Gigwise, The Line of Best Fit, Sludge, Gigslutz and Wonderland and interviews with Channel 5, BBC Worldwide, and BBC News.
