The 10 best music bars Nashville has to offer

We round up the best music bars in Nashville, Tennessee for listening to country music and drinking beer. Does it get any better?

There’s much more to Nashville than just country music. There’s also beer. Frankly, that’s enough for us. Here are 10 of the city’s best places to drink and listen to tunes at the same time —our kind of multi-tasking.

1Dino’s

11 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206

Dino’s takes a starring role in the Nashville episode of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, which is as good a reason as any to head down to this East Nashville institution for elegantly sloppy burgers and pictures of Dolly Parton everywhere you look.

2Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge

102 E Palestine Ave, Madison, TN 37115

Dives don’t get more delicious than Dee’s. In the suburb of Madison, this 1970s inspired lounge has got it all; pool, strong drinks and Margo Price tending bar when she’s not rocking the stage. Check the bill for spots by future greats like Sierra Ferrell too.

3Robert’s Western World

416 Broadway B, TN 37203

We’ll level with you – Nashville’s main drag Broadway is kind of a shitshow. But there is one jewel in the city’s rusty crown and that’s Robert’s. An old school style honky tonk where you can find country music traditionalists playing old timey sounds in a room lined with cowboy boots with fried baloney sandwiches on tap. Heaven.

4Duke’s

1000 Main St, Nashville, TN 37206

Soak up excess booze with one of Duke’s legendary late night sandwiches and score one of the East Nashville bar’s iconic No Dancing t-shirts while you’re at it.

5Fran’s East Side Lounge

2105 Greenwood Ave, Nashville, TN 37206

Last time we went to this flawless karaoke dive we saw blues pop singer Elle King doing her best Johnny Cash impression while country singer Courtney Marie Andrews is also a huge fan. Grab a bucket of beers then get up and sing. The best bar in America? It’s possible.

6American Legion Post 82

3204 Gallatin Pike, TN 37216

Infamous for weekly gathering, Honky Tonk Tuesdays, don’t be surprised if someone asks you to two-step at this old school American Legion bar.

7The Dive Motel

1414 Dickerson Pike, Nashville, TN 37207

You might recognise the extremely photogenic Dive as being the location for Orville Peck’s Playboy shoot. If not, then get acquainted – this vintage-styled motel with a bar and a swimming pool is a godsend in the sticky summer months.

8Santa’s Pub

2225 Bransford Ave, Nashville, TN 37204

It’s Christmas every day at Santa’s, a karaoke bar on the outskirts of town in a double wide trailer.

9The Station Inn

402 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203

As legendary as they come, The Station Inn is one for dedicated musos. Since the 1970s this is where the greatest bluegrass pickers in the world show off their skills.

10The 5 Spot

1006 Forrest Ave, Nashville, TN 37206

An East Nashville hub, get a little rock and roll with your country at The 5 Spot. Keep your eye on their socials for their official re-opening date.
