Jhené Aiko has shared a new video for ‘Chilombo’ track ‘Tryna Smoke’ – watch it below.

The LA-based singer released her third album last year and was nominated for Album Of The Year and Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards for the record.

Aiko celebrated 4/20 yesterday with the release of a music video for one of the album’s highlights in ‘Tryna Smoke’. The visual sees the star and friends dipping into a bag of weed at a party and getting increasingly high.

As the video progresses, their eyes grow cartoonishly and surreally wide, while one scene shows a hazy, almost kaleidoscopic image of Aiko. Watch the video below now.

The musician has also released her own merchandise collection to mark the video’s release. The range includes, t-shirts, a hoodie, a blacklight poster, rolling tray and more. You can view the collection here.

Last July, Aiko reissued ‘Chilombo’ as a new deluxe edition, featuring nine previously unreleased tracks and remixes. New guest features on the raft of additional songs included Snoop Dogg, Kehlani, Wiz Khalifa and more.

The original release of ‘Chilombo’ scored its creator over 170million streams in its first week, making it the biggest debut album in four years from a female R&B artist. That title was previously held by Beyoncé with her 2016 album ‘Lemonade’.

The record also topped the Billboard R&B Album Chart and came in at Number Two on the Billboard 200. In the UK, Aiko scored her highest position on the Official UK Albums Chart, peaking at Number 13.

Aiko was scheduled to hold a world tour in support of ‘Chilombo’. However, the pandemic forced those dates to be cancelled, with rescheduled shows still yet to be confirmed.
