St. Patrick’s Day is once again looking a little different this year but Jameson is still hoping to connect people through the joy of live music with a special immersive livestream headlined by Jessie Reyez.
On March 17, Jessie Reyez + Friends will broadcast live from Toronto’s Great Hall before heading across the ocean to Dublin, the home of St. Patrick’s Day. Reyez will perform tracks from her debut album ‘Before Love Came To Kill Us’, which was released back in March 2020 to widespread critical acclaim. She has donated her Jameson Connects performance fee to her band and crew whose livelihoods were severely impacted by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The Canadian singer-songwriter’s 2018 EP ‘Being Human in Public’ was nominated for a host of awards, including a Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album. She opened for Billie Eilish on her ‘Where Do We Go?’ world tour and has frequently collaborated with Eminem, who recently featured on her track ‘Coffin’. Reyez has also helped to write some of Calvin Harris’ biggest tracks, including the smash-hit ‘One Kiss ft. Dua Lipa’ and ‘Promises ft. Sam Smith’.
The Jameson Connects line-up will also feature performances from Dublin-based rappers Denise Chaila and Kojaque, as well as emerging Canadian talents Junia-T and Savannah Ré.
Gigs will be streamed globally on 17 March at 8pm (GMT, PDT, EDT, MYT) & 9pm (CET). Entry will be free but attendees are encouraged to donate to Al Otro Lado – a cause very close to Reyez’s heart. The organisation provides holistic legal and humanitarian support to indigent refugees, deportees, and other migrants in the US and Tijuana.
