Clairo just dropped the music video for the sultry smooth, ‘Terrapin’, taken from her critically acclaimed third album, ‘Charm’.
On directorial duties, she’s roped in actor/director/all round hilarious legend, Ayo Edebiri (The Bear, Bottoms) and that’s not even the best part. Starring as Clairo in the video is Weird Al Yankovic. Your average Clairo fan might not be familiar with Mr Yankovic’s oeuvre, (unless you’ve seen the Daniel Radcliffe-starring movie about his life) but back in the 90s, his parody songs were all the rage.
Here he is seen in his Sunday best, mouthing along to the song and playing a little keyboard as two sequined dancers twirl around him. Visually, there are 80s double exposure closeups, sitcom-style staging and soft lighting.
It’s all quite strange, to be honest. But we don’t hate it.
