Warner Bros just dropped its first teaser for the upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights – and Partygirls get ready, because Charli XCX has written her first post-‘brat‘ music for its soundtrack.

The trailer features ‘Brat’ classic, ‘Everything is Romantic,’ taken from the era-defining 2024 album, alongside the first publicly seen footage of Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff.

But it was Charli’s Instagram post that really got us going, with the star announcing that the film will also include “new original songs by me.” Could this give an early hint at the direction of her next album?

Directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Emerald Fennell, whose previous successes include Saltburn and Promising Young Woman, Wuthering Heights is set to provide a twisted take on the 1847 Emily Brontë novel. In the trailer, shots of rolling hills and manor houses are interspersed with scissors, corsets, and white knuckles. The supporting cast will include Martin Clunes, Shazad Latif, and breakout star of Adolescence Owen Cooper.

Wuthering Heights is due to be released on February 14 2026. Charli XCX signed off the announcement with a sentimental “happy early valentines <3.”
