Rising dutch artist Celine Cairo returns with a new track, ‘Woman’, the third release from her upcoming third album ‘Panacea’. ‘Woman’ is a meditation on modern womanhood and a touching ballad.
Cairo enlisted the help of her regular collaborators, Lawrence Diamond and Bob Matthews, for the track, which was produced by Benjamin Rheinländer in Amsterdam and mastered by Kevin Tuffy in Berlin. The song features a string arrangement by Dutch violinist and arranger Annelieke Marselje, which enhances its emotionality.
This latest single reflects on the modern conception of being a woman. Speaking about the song, The song was the result of a conversation Cairo had with her best friend: “We talked for hours about our careers, our not-so-traditional lives, about aging and the great freedom that we have, and how we shouldn’t take any of it for granted. It sparked this immense feeling of gratitude and interconnectedness, as I realized how much my female friendships mean to me, and how much of a highlight they are in my life.”
The single release is accompanied by a new music video, directed by Leandra Arjona-Jacobi (Studio HER), which features Clairo and her 90 year old grandmother Hélène on a beach. It’s the perfect tribute to their relationship and what it means to be a woman today.
‘Woman’ is taken from Celine Cairo’s upcoming third album, ‘Panacea’, set for release this summer.
