Clairo – ‘Echo’

One of the standout tracks on Clairo’s just-released third album, ‘Charm’, ‘Echo’ dips into a sultry new sound. It’s one that brings to mind smoky nights in dingy bars in the ‘60s – sexy and atmospheric and driven by a gently strutting guitar riff. “Our love is meant to be shared,” she sings softly, pulling you into the alluring world she’s created.

Dua Saleh – ‘Want’

Every time I’m back in LA / You up in my bed, it’s late,” Dua Saleh admits on ‘Want’, the latest track from their upcoming debut album, ‘I Should Call Them’. It’s not a reconnection they’re proud of – “I know we probably shouldn’t, but…” they sing in the next line – but, sometimes, doing what’s best for you can’t compete with desire. It’s an effortless but intoxicating and relatable teaser for the full-length record.

hanbee – ‘deeper’

Hanbee’s debut album ‘small love’ is mesmerising and ‘deeper’, one of its standout tracks, crafts a dreamy pocket of romance that’s tinged with melancholy. “I’ll never love you more / You wish I could be more / Deeper,” the New Zealand-Korean indie-pop artist sings over gently bouncing, crisp synths, subtly illustrating that tension. Her partner might not be fully content, but the track – and ‘small love’ as a whole – is a fulfilling, enchanting listen.

Kaeto – ‘U R Mine’

No matter what your body looks like, it’s often a struggle to feel completely satisfied with it. Kaeto’s latest track, ‘U R Mine’, puts the focus back on what’s actually important – the incredible things our bodies do to keep us moving through life. Over a spinning piano loop and propulsive drumbeat, the artist pens a love letter to her flesh and bones that’s both soothing and hypnotic.

Wasia Project – ‘Takes Me Back Home’

Wasia Project’s new single is nothing short of stunning – a swooping, cinematic piece that poignantly makes you think about what home is to you and the idea of belonging. “I need you here with me / I need you right now,” Olivia Hardy sings over the swelling track. “To take me back home / And make me feel warm.” Gorgeous, superlative stuff.
