Kanye West and Elon Musk are heading to Clubhouse, the audio-only social media app that allows users to hold discussions on topics of their choosing.
The new platform is quickly gaining in popularity, but is still only available on an invitation basis and only for iOS users.
The rapper and the SpaceX CEO have got their invitations and will be joining up on the Clubhouse app on an undisclosed date. “Just agreed to do Clubhouse with @kanyewest,” Musk tweeted last night (February 10).
In a follow-up tweet, he promised: “The most entertaining outcome is the most likely.”
Kanye is yet to comment on the pair’s apparent plans. What they will discuss and when is still to be announced.
Should the session go ahead, West will join a host of musicians who’ve already signed up to Clubhouse, including Drake, Meek Mill, Questlove, and 21 Savage. Keep your eyes peeled for more news on the date and time – Clubhouse “rooms” only hold a maximum of 5,000 people currently.
Musk and West are good friends, with the former advising the rapper on his 2020 presidential campaign. Part of that advice saw the Tesla boss try to convince West to run in 2024 instead following one of his infamous Twitter sprees.
When he was setting out his plans to run America, West said he would appoint Musk as the “head of our space program”.
Ahead of the election, the rapper said he would be able to beat Democratic candidate Joe Biden on write-in votes alone. West’s name was removed from ballots in all but a handful of states due to missing deadlines and filing fraudulent signatures. He went on to receive a total of approximately 60,000 votes compared to Biden’s more than 80million.
