A ‘Driver’s License’ parody has gone viral on TikTok as Olivia Rodrigo’s song looks set to continue its chart-topping streak.

Former Disney star Rodrigo has topped charts and broken records around the world since its release earlier this month, even earning her a co-sign from Taylor Swift.

Now, TikTok user @jaxwritessongs has used the track as inspiration for a new parody, titled ‘Driver’s License POV: The Guy Behind Her’.

In the 60-second video, the songwriter sits behind the wheel of the car, dressed in a suit and holding a coffee cup. “Did she just get her driver’s license?” she sings to the same melody as Rodrigo’s song. “Cos I’ve been stuck behind her car/ Driving three miles an hour.”

Later, she adds: “Oh God, now she’s crying/ I wish she’d start driving/ I have to pee/ This is taking forever/ Some people got places to be.” Watch it below now.

At the time of writing, the parody video has been liked 1.5million times and shared 35,800 times. TikTok does not make views on a video public.

‘Driver’s License’ is Rodrigo’s debut solo single and is the first track to be taken from her debut EP. Since its release, it has spawned a handful of songs thought to be responding to it from her High School Musical: The Musical: The Series co-star Joshua Barrett and fellow Disney star Sabrina Carpenter.

In other viral song news, Jensen McRae has shared the full version of her own internet hit – a “preemptive cover” of Phoebe Bridgers’ tackling the pandemic on her “2023 album opener”.

The rising LA musician has now written a full song, titled ‘Immune’, after the response to the 52-second snippet she shared earlier this month. For her part, Bridgers seems to be a fan – she shared the full song on Twitter with the caption “shut the fuck[ing] door”.
